About Bloomington, California

The city of Bloomington was established as part of the agricultural holdings of the Semi-Tropic Land and Water Company, which was formed in 1887.

The Riverside Portland Cement Company built a huge plant near the Crestmore Quarries (South Bloomington) in 1907, and to transport staff, it constructed a standard gauge railway to Riverside.

The route was extended from Glendora to Bloomington on May 20, 1911. Crestmore’s original settlement is generally located south of Jurupa Avenue and west of Locust Avenue, reaching the Riverside County line. For many years, the Pacific Electric Crestmore Line (Riverside–Rialto) provided local transportation.

The Semi-Tropic Land and Water Company (now known as West Valley Water District) established Bloomington, Rialto, Fontana, and Sansevaine’s town sites.

The town site of Bloomington, after being surveyed in April, 1888, was demarcated on the north by Valley Boulevard, on the south by Slover Avenue, on the east by Larch Avenue, and on the west by Linden Avenue.

Now a portion of the community is still rural, and many people continue to keep and raise animals. Cities such as Rialto and Colton are presently attempting to incorporate huge portions of the land now incorporated in Bloomington.

Incorporation attempts

Because of budget and personnel limitations, full incorporation was not completed in 1989.

In February and March of 2007, the Bloomington Incorporation Committee (BIC) requested for another attempt at incorporation with the Local Agency Formation Commission. It failed in late February and early March, when the Local Agency Formation Commission denied an extension that BIC needed to pay a $109,000 deposit for viability and financial studies.

Green Acres Mortuary

Green Acres Mortuary and Green Acres Memorial Park are in Bloomington, California. Together, this kindhearted funeral provider and cemetery give San Bernardino County and the surrounding areas with friendly services.

When you pick a funeral facility on the cemetery grounds, you may conveniently handle all of your needs for a personalized, memorable memorial.

The cemetery at Bloomington’s Green Acres Memorial Park was built in the 1950s by Henry Maag on Central Avenue. It was created using what was then a unique method to a graveyard: a park-like setting with lush greens and a wide range of gardens where to commemorate loved ones.

The unusual thing about Green Acres Memorial Park is that it was built all at once, rather than in phases. As a result, there are no restricted grave sites within the cemetery’s boundaries; instead, they may be found throughout each of our individual manicured gardens. This implies you’ll have more control over where you want to be buried for yourself

Green Acres Mortuary was established on the grounds of Green Acres Memorial Park in 1973. They have continuously delivered caring and professional funeral, memorial, and cemetery services to the people of Bloomington.

Since 1994, the Bel-Air swap Meet has taken place in the inland empire and has grown to be one of California’s most popular outdoor swap meets. With over 600 parking spaces, it is open four days a week.

You’ll discover everything from inexpensive things to historical collectibles. It’s a fantastic location to spend time in nature with your family and friends.

Why go anywhere else when you may get great deals at our store? They provide everything you need in one location!
