Refrigerant leaks · capacitors · compressors · fan motors · thermostats · every brand

Call (760) 895-2621

When your AC quits in July, you don’t need a blog post — you need a tech in your driveway. Anthem runs a full diagnostic before quoting a repair and hands you a written estimate so you know exactly what you’re paying for before any work starts. Anthem Club members get priority dispatch during peak season — first in the queue. We service every major brand — Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem, York, American Standard, Bryant, Day & Night — and most repairs are completed in a single visit because our trucks are stocked with the parts that actually fail in desert heat.

The repairs we run most often

Full Diagnostic

Refrigerant pressures, electrical, airflow, thermostat — the whole system, before we quote. No guessing, no parts cannon.

Refrigerant Leak Repair

Refrigerant Leak Repair

Electronic leak detection, UV dye, nitrogen pressure test. We seal the leak first; recharging without finding it is throwing money in the yard.

Capacitors & Motors

Repair or replace? — the honest math

We don’t push replacement when repair is the right call — and we don’t band-aid a dying system to bill a service ticket. The line is usually clear once we open it up.

Situation Repair makes sense Replace makes sense
System age Under 10 years 12+ years, especially R-22 units
Repair cost Under ~30% of replacement 50%+ of replacement, repeatedly
Refrigerant R-410A, leak found and sealed R-22 (banned, scarce, $$$)
Efficiency SEER 14+, bills stable SEER 10–13, summer bills creeping
Failure mode Capacitor, contactor, fan motor, thermostat Compressor failure on an aging unit

Frequently asked questions

My AC is blowing warm air — what’s the most likely cause?

In the Coachella Valley, the top three by frequency are: a failed capacitor (cheap, fast fix), a refrigerant leak (needs leak detection then a seal), or a frozen evaporator coil from low refrigerant or restricted airflow. A real diagnostic takes 30–45 minutes and tells you which one before you spend a dollar on parts.

How fast can you get out here?

Call (760) 895-2621 and we’ll give you a real ETA based on what’s open. Anthem Club members get priority dispatch — first in the queue during peak weeks (June through September).

Do you charge a diagnostic fee?

Yes — a flat diagnostic fee gets a tech to your house and a full system check. If you approve the repair, the diagnostic typically rolls into the repair cost. No hidden charges, written estimate first.

My system is 12 years old — should I bother repairing?

Depends on what failed and how much. Capacitor or fan motor on a 12-year-old unit? Usually worth repairing — you’ll get a few more seasons. Compressor failure on a 12-year-old R-22 unit? That’s the conversation where replacement actually saves you money, and we’ll show you the math before recommending it.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes — California CSLB #1001659 (Anthem Mechanical Inc., dba Anthem Air Conditioning & Plumbing). General liability and workers’ comp on every job.
